Focus in on Life - George Charles Rolling Smith

George Charles Rolling Smith

Meeting Notice

22/6/94 – 3/1/12

Wednesday, June 22nd will be the final day for Focus in on Life. We have been in existence now for ten years, we have given away just under ninety grants and supported many projects. We have worked with many schools in Wiltshire and beyond, local artists, the RSPB, Butterfly Conservation, Andover Trees United, Sparsholt College and elderly friendship groups. We have met many wonderful people and received a huge amount of support and we are very grateful for everyone's kindness. Thank you.

George Smith George, our son, was a horticulture student at Sparsholt College who was planning to study for a degree in Garden Design. As well as being a plantsman and a gardener George was also a keen photographer, through his photography George shared his love of the countryside and illustrated his awareness of the beauty that surrounds us all. As parents we would like to share George’s work. We have set up a charity called “Focus in on Life, a charity celebrating the life and achievements of George C.R. Smith” through which money raised will support specific groups and charities who are working with young people. Areas of particular interest are conservation, sustainable living, horticulture and environmental awareness. We will also support charities which are involved in encouraging young people in various forms of self expression such as art, drama, photography and rural crafts.

Focus in on Life is a purely non-profit making charity which is run by a group of trustees comprising of George’s family and close friends who absorb all administrative costs.

Thank you for your support.
